Who we are. CelDrive is operated by Parent Vertical LLC, the data controller for the personal information described below. Contact: hello@celdrive.com.

1. Landing page (celdrive.com)

This website is served by Cloudflare. Cloudflare logs basic request data (IP, user agent, timestamp) for abuse prevention and performance; see Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

If you submit the notify-when-live form, your email is sent to our own servers and stored so we can contact you about launch milestones. We use it for nothing else, and we do not pass it to a third-party form service. Unsubscribe any time by replying "unsubscribe."

2. Paid tiers (Cloud, Pro, Team)

If you subscribe to a paid tier, we collect:

• Account email: to authenticate your account and send service notices.
• Billing info: processed by Stripe. We do not store card details; we only store a Stripe customer ID.
• Usage metadata: bucket size, last sync timestamp, error logs for the purpose of support and capacity planning. We do not inspect file contents.

Your file contents are stored in the cloud region you select (e.g., US-East, EU-West). Files are encrypted at rest by the underlying provider (typically AES-256). We do not access file contents. A decryption key derived from your account password (never transmitted in plaintext) is required for restore.

3. Mobile app (iOS & Android)

The CelDrive mobile app helps you back up phone photos to your CelDrive storage and free up space on your device. It accesses the following, each only with your explicit OS-level permission:

• Photo library (read): used solely to upload the photos and videos you choose to back up to your own CelDrive storage. We do not scan, analyze, view, or share your photo content. Permissions: NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription (iOS), READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO (Android).
• Photo library (add): used only when you restore a photo, to save it back to your device. Permission: NSPhotoLibraryAddUsageDescription (iOS).
• Background sync (optional, off by default): if you enable auto-backup, the app uploads newly added photos in the background, subject to your Wi-Fi/cellular and battery preferences. You can turn this off at any time in Settings.
• "Free up space" (optional): deletes local copies of photos only after verifying each one is safely stored in your CelDrive cloud. Deletions use the system delete dialog, require your confirmation, and are recoverable for 7 days via in-app Restore.

The app authenticates you with Clerk (your account email). It does not collect your location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or use third-party analytics or ad trackers. Photo data is transmitted over TLS and stored encrypted at rest in the region tied to your account, exactly as described in Section 2.

4. Third parties (processors)

These providers process data on our behalf, only to the extent needed to provide the service. This list was corrected on September 14, 2026 — an earlier version named vendors we do not use.

• Cloudflare — hosts this site and our API, and stores your files (R2 object storage) and account records. Your file contents are encrypted at rest.
• Hetzner (Germany/Finland) and Scaleway (France) — run your Linux cloud computers. While a cloud computer is running, your storage is mounted on it so you can work with your files; the machine is deleted or powered off when you stop it, and your files remain only in your storage.
• Amazon Web Services — runs Windows cloud computers, on the same terms as above.
• Scaleway — also provides Apple-silicon Mac computers when you launch one.
• Unyplex (our own billing service) and Stripe — payment processing. Stripe receives your email and payment method; we never see or store your card number.
• mailvak (our own email service), which delivers through Resend and Mailgun — sign-in codes, receipts and service notices. There are no passwords to reset; you sign in with a one-time code.
• Clerk — session management for the web app, being retired in favour of our own sign-in.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Data retention

• If you cancel a paid subscription, your stored files remain accessible for 30 days, then deleted.
• Account email and billing records are retained for 7 years for tax compliance, then deleted.
• Notify-list emails are deleted if you request, or automatically 18 months after collection if inactive.

6. Your rights

You may at any time:

• Export your data using the CelDrive restore command, or by downloading directly from the managed bucket via a presigned URL on request.
• Delete your account: email hello@celdrive.com or use the account portal when available.
• Access a copy of data we hold about you: within 30 days of request.

EU/UK users: you have rights under GDPR. California residents: you have rights under CCPA. Contact us to exercise them.

7. Children

CelDrive is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes

We will post material changes to this policy on this page and, for paid-tier subscribers, notify you by email at least 30 days in advance of changes taking effect.
